Photography
Taking photos is a passion I’ve cultivated since I was a teenager. It wasn’t something I set out to do, yet whenever I had a camera in hand it was hard to ever put down. It was while taking a college photography course that my love for the slow art of film photography emerged, and to this day continues to grow.
It has become my way to document life’s details, learn about the greater world around me, connect with God, and discover the undercurrents of life’s facades.
What has inspired my photography most over the years is ever-growing and evolving yet some remain steady: the raw beauty of nature, impressionist paintings by artists like Monet and Degas, and their en plein air method, and works by photographer Sally Mann, particularly Southern Landscapes.
I’m now on a journey to make sense of years worth of photos I’ve taken, share them openly, and explore the art of film and digital photography more deeply.
I invite you to follow my journey and stay connected through Instagram @janettebaeza.
